Art,

Just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you for allowing me to become a member of Global Mobile Entertainers Association and for "hooking me up" with the BEST DJ insurance deal in the industry! I have spent months and months researching DJ Insurance and the benefits of joining other Disc-Jockey Associations, but nothing really appealed to me. Within 48 hours of becoming a member of GMEA, however, I was able to secure my Insurance Binder through Patty Kushner at Mang Insurance who is underwritten by one of the biggest and BEST insurers in the world, Travelers Insurance, (who I just so happen to be employed by as well). Trust me when I tell you, they are a great company and their DJ equipment and liability policy is by far beyond comparison.

In addition to being a full-time Paralegal, I have an established DJ business in Boston and throughout New England and have invested thousands of dollars and hours growing and improving it, but the best move I ever made was taking advantage of the DJ insurance offered exclusively through GMEA membership. I have "peace of mind" now knowing I am completely covered and that, my friend is "priceless." I am going to recommend GMEA to every DJ I know…and let them know they'd be crazy not to make the switch. Oh and by the way, I have already begun listening to the PODCASTS offered through the GMEA website. Good stuff. Very informative.

I have been a member of The Global Mobile Entertainers Association since I started my company in 2004. One of the things that I look forward to every week are the weekly podcasts. The insight Art provides on these shows are priceless and is presented in an extremely entertaining way. My weekly ritual includes downloading the podcast, putting in my iPod and listening in my car. I can't tell you how much thanks I owe you. After just a week of listening to your podcasts & having the marketing kit, I booked nearly 5k in events the first week. Now maybe some will attribute this to a lucky week. I do have a good close ratio to begin with for customers calling in or leads followed, but NEVER all closures on the first call. This is especially the case with Weddings. I have never been good with discussing with brides, but just using things in the letter to the bride as part of my phone schpiel, I booked 2 weddings this week on the first call! I booked the Hard Rock Cafe @ Times Square (corporate holiday party), and a few other small events. normally I book 1-2 events a week, hopefully a big one (over 100 people wedding, bar mitzvah, corporate etc.) and one small one (school, birthday, backyard, communion, etc.). I can honestly only attribute this instant success to your quick guidance. I can only imagine where my company will be in a year! This marketing advice from you is easily worth thousands of dollars. ANYONE who's hesitant to spend the 25 bucks for your MARKETING KIT is a fool, and let them call me night and day to tell them so and that NO DJ IN THE USA should be booking events without it (although maybe no one else in the NYC metro area should get it so I get all the business? I have to be a little greedy right?) Best wishes to you, and I'll talk to you soon!

Hi Art,

I can not begin to explain how nice it was to know that I could call you late Friday night with questions regarding equipment. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you and all the members of GMEA that we truly appreciate ART and GMEA. To know that you can reach someone that is in the Disc Jockey/Entertainment business with so much experience ANYTIME of the day, that is PRICELESS. When we first called Art Friday night, we were frustrated (to say the least) and stressed at the same time. We went to set up for a Wedding Reception Friday evening, since it was an early Wedding on Saturday afternoon. However, once we got our sound system hooked up and started to do a sound check, we had a problem. We had music for a minute or two and then it faded out like I was fading the music using the mixer, but I wasn’t touching anything. The system had just worked an hour before and nothing had changed. But there were people there messing with the lighting at the same time. After several failed attempts of trying to redo the sound system, try additional extension cords, try additional outlets, and on and on and on, we packed up our stuff and headed home... we had NO SOUND. During the drive home, we called a couple of our DJ friends with no luck because they were doing events. So, we called Art looking for some possible insight. We not only received some things to try, but we received support. He reminded us to stay calm and relax, that it would all work out. Our phone conversation with Art was just what we needed, someone that understood the situation we were in. We came home and hooked up the system and it played perfectly. So armed with our back up stuff and our full system, Saturday morning we went back to the hall and encountered the same problem. After trial and error, we believe it was something to do with the electric at the place. We unhooked some of our equipment (conditioner and maximizer) and magically, we had sound. The event went great.

We just wanted to take a minute to tell Art that we truly appreciate all he does for GMEA and its’ members. We are so proud to be a member of this association.

I would like to say thanks to Art and Patty for their diligent efforts to help me when I called today. Its nice to know someone has my back. On another note, I'd like to thank Art and Patty for going the extra mile to get us with the DJ Insurance package we all need to protect ourselves. Here's a little story for you guys out there who still don't have insurance on your rigs. I have a guy who works for me and he has been around for about a year. We have DJs who work both with our equipment and their own. Well he was doing a gig in a bar one Saturday night and the fireplace caught on fire. The fire spread to the ceiling and is now nothing but ashes including all his equipment. Well he didn't have insurance and now he is stuck working for me full time. So people, get insurance Art will get you going in the right direction. Since I have become a GMEA member my business has grown tremendously. His podcasts are great and very informative. I just thought I would say thanks and throw in my 2 cents for anyone out there who still thinks they don't need to be part of an association. Pick one that cares and where you can call anytime; where you are not just a number and not really a customer but a friend. There, chew on that and do the right thing. Join GMEA. I did and I love it.

I have been listening to your podacsts now since the first one and I just want to tell you that they are AMAZING! I download the newest podcast, then load it directly into my iPod so when I am driving or listening to it, they will be right there ready to listen to. My company went from a few gigs a month to bookings all the time just by simply applying what you said in your podcasts to my business. I would write down on a piece of paper, what you would specifically say and then apply it to my website, contract, advertising plans, etc... to gain maximum profit for my business. I may also add that I would laugh out loud, at the sometimes "dry" humor that you add to them. People driving by me sometimes give me weird looks, but its worth it for how funny they are at points. I may be only 19 years old, but I realize a quality product when I see one, and Global Mobile is definetly one of them. I was so motivated by these podcasts that I recently joined as a member and I highly recommend anyone who owns their own mobile DJ company to do so also. Just would like to take a few moments of your time to extend my sincere thanks for your prompt and courtesy professional assistance in helping me obtain my Certificate of Insurance. Without your support I would have taking a 3,000.00 lost in business. Campgrounds gigs are my bread and butter, but the owners insist on insurance coverage, no insurance, no work. I have been a radio/mobile DJ in Austin, Texas since 1983 and was laid off last year on March 1st from my state job and made a decision to turn my part-time DJ business into a full-time thing. So far it is going well and I am still learning a lot as I build my business. I finally had a chance to listen to the broadcast about pricing. I must say I wish I had know someone like you and your association was available in 1980 when I started this labor of love. I have always known that there was difference in DJ's but I live in a place where if you have music you think you can entertain. The business in some cases has turned into how much of a system you can finance and not on skills to entertain and your use of music to create a specific atmosphere. I just wanted to drop you a note to let you know how pleased I am with the program through Discover Card to accept credit cards... This service is provided through a company called Global Payments. It was easy to setup, the people there have been very helpful and I am booking more shows. Now when I talk to a customer, on the phone or in person, and we get to my retainer, I tell them that I can take a major credit card and several have taken advantage of it. I feel it will also be a huge advantage when doing bridal shows...
